Aziza Abduragimova, Ravi Amarawansa, Nigar Akhmedova, Evelyn Arias, Braulio Campos, Lissett Garduño, Rocio Garduño, Steve Gonzalez, Michelle Jochola, Komal Kapoor, Max Loder, Richard Muñoz, Rubi Oliva, Cristhian Palacios, Leslie Quintanilla, and Osvaldo Vasquez participated in a fundraiser for the Ark Foundation School in Tegeta, Tanzania. The Fundraiser took place on December 12th, 2005 at Venice High School in Los Angeles, California. Fundraising was done through a school-wide brownie sale in which these students raised $167.45 for the Ark Foundation School.

The sixteen students wanted to do something to help maintain the Ark Foundation School open because it is the only public school in all of Tanzania. They understand the importance of free education because they too attend a public school in Los Angeles. Aziza Abduragimova, Nigar Akhmedova, Evelyn Arias, and Lissett Garduño each baked about 50 brownies and with the help of the other twelve students sold them around the Venice High School campus. The students were surprised at the success of their fundraiser because the brownies sold quickly. Besides the sale of brownies around campus, the students also distributed flyers to teachers and other adults with information about where they could donate money to help maintain the Ark Foundation School open.

Due to the success of their first fundraiser, the team of sixteen is planning an additional fundraiser for the Ark Foundation School in Tanzania.
