Because organizing events requires advance planning and preparation, you might be uncertain how to begin.

Don't get too concerned.  Hey, people go to graduate school just to learn how to effectively manage a project!  You have the advantage of learning by doing.

Sometimes teams define their success not by now many community members and leaders they educate and influence – Instead they focus on how much funds they raise. 

Fundraising is only one aspect of the NGC program.  It's definitely NOT the most significant. 

Global change requires not only distribution of resources (fundraising) but also awareness of the issues (community education) and both the leadership and policies necessary to ensure nations are accountable to the needs of all peoples (advocacy).
