How can we go to school but over 100 million of our peers are unable to gain an education because of poverty?

Why do we accept that 1.4 million children will die this year because they don't have access to clean drinking water?

When did it become okay that 300,000 teenagers just like us are being exploited in armies and rebel groups around the world?

WHO IS GOING TO PUT AN END TO THIS?

In rural Arizona, inner city Chicago, northern California, dozens of other areas in the US, and in all corners of the globe, we represent a generation that is ABSOLUTELY TIRED of reading these headlines, seeing these images, and being told that there is nothing we can do about it.  if the Wright brothers had never dreamed they could fly, if Martin Luther King Junior had not imagined an end to racial segregation, if Nelson Mandela had not believed that Apartheid could end...the world would have never changed.

As the Dalai Lama once said, "Responsibility does not only lie with the leaders of our countries, it lies with each of us individually."  SO what do we do as members of the largest, most diverse, and globally connected generation the world has ever seen?  WE TAKE ACTION.  We get out there EVERY DAY and EDUCATE our communities about issues, we ADVOCATE on behalf of locally led solutions, and we RAISE the resources to invest in sustainable change on a global scale.  WE WILL see the end to these challenges in our lifetime. 

The history books will write about us...the power of our generation...and our undying belief that we could change the world.  And those history books will be read by every child, in every language, in every community, in every country...because we were the ones to change the statistics.  Our voices are united in outcry at the injustices we read about every day.  And we are undoubtedly ready to act.
