GLOBAL PROJECT
Nirvanavan Foundation, India. Nirvanavan is a grassroots organization working in the remote areas of Alwar district of Rajasthan on educational, ecological and social issues.
Lick-Wilmerding's NGC team was interested in issues of sex trafficking and wanted to help find solutions to the problem on a global scale. The team felt Nirvanavan dealt with issues of sex trafficking in their community in a sustainable way by offering prevention programs and education to children to make them less vulnerable to trafficking.
ACTION
The NGC team held a Henna tattoo event to provide a cultural experience for their fellow students, in addition to a bake sale, curry sale, and yoga night to raise funds and awareness for Nirvanavan.
