ACTION
The Holy Cross NGC Team hosted
a child Mortality Ribbon Sale. Orange Ribbons were sold to represent
awareness of malnutrition. The campaign served as a fundraiser and
great community education event, increasing the awareness of their fellow
students and faculty about issues of child morality and The Smile
Group.
They also posted fliers in their school containing data on child mortality.
Message from the team:
“In our realm of high school with academic/social pressure, it is very
easy to forget about the great big world out there. The fliers got
people talking. Because malnutrition and malnutrition related diseases
are a few of the chief causes of child mortality, we thought that
raising money and awareness of the silent genocide that is child
malnutrition was appropriate.” - Team Leader Mary Frances LaHood
