NGC Team Support
2007 - 2008 Team Support
Because of the hard work of NGC Teams House of Hope was able to purchase:
-
Local insecticide-treated bed-nets for each of the 180 students at the House of Hope school, which they shared with their families at home. Nets are an incredibly important tool in the fight against malaria and help keep kids healthy to attend school.
-
De-worming medication for all staff and students.
-
A dairy-producing cow, which has since given birth to 2 calves! The cows are now providing fresh milk daily for House of Hope students.
2008 - 2009 Team Support
Because of the hard work of NGC Teams House of Hope was able to purchase:
- Shoes and clean socks for all the students at House of Hope. Due to the deep poverty prevalent in the communities that House of Hope serves, shoes and socks are luxury items that most students cannot access. However, proper footwear is vital for health and sanitation. Further, shoes are required for students to attend secondary school once they graduate from the House of Hope primary school. House of Hope was able to purchase the shoes within the local community contributing to community buy in and supporting local economic sustainability.
House of Hope Student Success
Desranta is a House of Hope recent graduate who is HIV positive. Before coming to House of Hope she wasn't sure how to access needed medication or what she would do with her life. She is an excellent student and graduated from House of Hope because of hard work and diligence.
After graduation, she now attends a nearby sewing vocation school, and will return as a teacher at House of Hope once she completes her course.
House of Hope pays both her tuition and boarding fees and provides her with regular medical care and access to needed HIV medication.
