WACN Program
Through the WACN Program women can receive small loans for sustainable agriculture, buffalo rearing, opening of small shops, or sending their kids to school.
The WACN program also provides women training on issues like income generating skills and women's health.
WACN advocates for the elimination of all forms of discrimination, violence, and sex trafficking of women and girls through action programs.
Why the need?
Nepal is one of the poorest countries in the world, with almost 1/3 of the population living under $1 a day. Poverty and malnutrition are widespread and 18% of the population is estimated to be without access to safe water. Since 1996, Nepal has endured political instability that has increased the level of poverty, affecting the most vulnerable groups, women and children.
