What are Global Projects?

NGC Global Projects are organizations around the world that are addressing one or more of the Global Issue Areas in their local communities. Global Projects are "grassroots" (meaning locally led and community driven), innovative, and sustainable.

Why are Global Projects Grassroots organizations?

New Global Citizens believes that for too long, charities, politicians and development groups believed they could come in as outsiders and ‘fix’ whatever problems were faced by the world’s poor. But this approach ignored the very people it was supposed to help – the people who were best placed to create change. That is why all Global Projects are supported and led by their local community.

How does NGC find Global Projects?

NGC partners with organizations in the U.S. who are experts in finding and supporting international grassroots organizations. We call these organizations, Global Partners. Find out more about NGC Global Partners.
