House of Hope Program

House of Hope runs the House of Action Junior School, which educates 100 children ranging in age from 3-12 years into grades 1st through 7th grade. The school provides children with daily nutritious meals for staff and students, medical care as needed and social services to ensure the students are living in safe home environments.

Why the need?

In 2003, there were about 78,000 HIV/AIDS related deaths in Uganda. This number has continued to rise, leaving more and more children orphaned and unable to receive the educational and medical care they need.

How Team Efforts Translate to Impact

All funds NGC teams raise will support the monthly costs of operating House of Hope:

  • $720 staff salaries
  • $273 medical care for the staff and students
  • $47 teacher salary

How House of Hope Creates Sustainable Global Change

Teaching HIV/AIDS prevention techniques to children who have been affected with HIV/AIDS will help to stop its spread  to future generations and allow children to lead healthy lifestyles. Also, House of Hope employs local community members to educate and provide medical care for the participants - investing resources back into the local economy.
