Caitlin and Amanda visited India in May 2007

Caitlin Drewes (Program Director) and I had the opportunity to visit India for 2 weeks in May 2007. In high school I worked on a project through New Global Citizens to raise $16,000 to establish a mobile toy and book library for street children in India through the grassroots organization Ruchika Social Service Organization (RSSO). We were invited to visit RSSO, learn about their programs, paint the bus with children, and inaugurate the bus project. In addition to this incredible opportunity, Cait and I visited several other NGOs in India and spent a few days visiting some of the country’s gorgeous landmarks.
