NGC Supporters
NGC Supporters are organizations that are supportive of the NGC mission and vision and seek to support the passion of our student teams and the capacity of our alumni to impact global change beyond their NGC experience.

Global Leadership Adventures (GLA) provides NGC students the opportunity to travel, experience life in different communities, and participate in direct service learning experience.
GLA is an international community service program for high school students ages 15 to 18. Student participants spend 3 weeks of their summer in Brazil, Costa Rica, Ghana, India, or South Africa. GLA is unique because of its focus on learning first-hand about global issues and human rights. Community service projects vary based on the needs of the community – but all programs include working alongside local people on programs that they have identified as being important.
New Global Citizens works with GLA to offer our participants the opportunity to travel abroad and see firsthand the challenges NGC Global Projects address.

When you go to college, wouldn't you like to arrive on campus knowing you are ready for whatever gets thrown at you?
Imagine going to school each morning because you’ve got a class to teach or to a health clinic because you’ve got a shift in the pharmacy or to the fields because you’ve got tomatoes to harvest. As a GCY Fellow, you are not a visitor, you’re a core member of a your community. You'll learn to speak a new language, train with experts on international development and leadership, and find out what life in another country is like.
Each year, Global Citizen Year recruits and trains a diverse corps of high school graduates to engage as apprentices in Asia, Africa, or Latin America during a transformative “bridge year” before college. GCY Fellows spend 10 months in an intensive fellowship learning a new language, becoming integral members of a community, and working on the frontlines of today's global challenges. In collaboration with top universities, business and social sector leaders, we provide our Fellows with ongoing training in leadership, global development, and social entrepreneurship. Fellows return with the critical perspectives and skills needed to succeed in college and beyond. Read it or see it for yourself.
We are looking for young people with exceptional passion and potential, and we work with each family to find ways to make the experience financially accessible. Full scholarships for our 2012 Fellows are available.
